James G. Allen is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the birthplace of liberty and freedom, not only for Americans, but for many of the People of the western world. The ideas of the Enlightenment, embraced by the founding generation, created for the first time in the recorded history of mankind, a society where ‘We the People’ became our own rulers.

Dr. Allen took up an in-depth study of the founding documents and the principles of liberty, as known and understood by the founders, and has been able to become thoroughly acquainted with Constitutional law and the governmental structure that was intended to come into existence through those documents; however, he now believes, sadly, that our government at all levels is not functioning as was originally intended, and therefore, ‘We the People’ have suffered, having lost many of our freedoms - too many!

In addition to his medical background as an anesthesiologist Dr. Allen currently serves as a PA State Constable and has received extensive private training in the use of firearms, tactical weapons training with a retired thirty-year veteran of the Philadelphia Police Department and martial arts training, including the use of non-lethal force. He will also acquire additional training as offered by the Commonwealth government upon taking office as the Sheriff of Mercer County. Furthermore, he has proven leadership experience managing people in high-stress, life and death situations while working in the operating room, trauma bay and in the field.

Dr. Allen came to Mercer County, Pennsylvania five years ago to serve as the Interim Director of the department of Anesthesiology at Grove City Medical Center, a contracted position that lasted for twelve months. He currently works as a staff anesthesiologist at Butler Memorial Hospital and lives in Grove City with his wife and son.

Because the Constitution still matters, the People of Mercer County deserve to have someone of the caliber of James G. Allen representing them and their interests in the Office of the Sheriff. He strongly believes that "We the People" have an obligation to serve in local government, without expectation for personal gain, whenever possible so as to keep it truly accountable. He pledges to serve with honor, always defending the Constitutional principles to which he swore a sacred oath.

Because the Constitution still matters...
